Latest news from the ranch
Friends and Cattlemen,
Welcome to our 12th ''Prime Cut on the Hoof Sale.'' We consider it a privilege to produce Angus seedstock for our customers and friends. We thank you for your faith in purchasing and using our bulls and females. Your satisfaction and profitability is important to us and our operation. We are excited about the offering we have selected for you and feel the genetics will work in many different types of programs.
Many of these bulls are out of the industry’s proven leading sires. We strive to use bulls that are well balanced for maternal, growth and carcass performance. These bulls are stout, full of red meat and ready to work for you. None of our calves are creep fed, we may not have the big weaning weights but we feel it is a true measure of a cow’s performance. These bulls' progeny prove that Angus cattle can still perform efficiently and effectively protecting your bottom line. This year we felt the to need to continue to improve and provide cattle that will go out and work for you and be and stay functional for as long as you own them. Upon recommendations from our nutritionist we made some changes in our rations to maybe keep them more sound, better feet and legs, less back fat and more athletic. Time will tell if this is the direction that we need to continue but at this time we are very pleased with the cattle and we hope they meet your approval.
As you look through this catalog you will also find many bulls with excellent calving ease potential. The recommendations on these bulls are based on both our data and experience. Also we have added a new column for REA/CWT , (Ribeye area/hundred weight), this will allow a producer to compare ribeye area between different weight bulls if he wants to add or decrease rib eye area. Much of the industry is saying that 1.1 sq in/hundred pounds of body weight is ideal, i.e. 1100 lb calf should have a 12'' ribeye. If you have any questions or thoughts on this measurement, please call I would be happy to visit with you.
Both the commercial and registered heifers selling are out of the heart of our cow herd. Many are out of Pathfinder dams. They are very feminine and should make a first rate cow herd. In closing, we invite you to our place anytime you are in the area. We also invite your inspection of this exceptional set of cattle and to enjoy a complimentary lunch with us, Thursday, March 25, 2010 at the Imperial Auction Market starting at 11:00 a.m. MDT.
Sincerely,
Todd & Donalyn Hasenauer & Family
